Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Cipher, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our web application.
2. User Responsibility & Encryption Passwords
Cipher utilizes zero-knowledge AES-256-GCM client-side encryption. Because your files and passwords stay in local browser memory and are never transmitted to a server, there is no password recovery option. Users are solely responsible for safely storing their encryption passwords. Cipher cannot recover lost passwords or unencrypt lost data.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties
Cipher is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we employ industry-standard Web Crypto specifications, you use these tools at your own risk.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Cipher tools for illegal purposes, including processing prohibited content or violating third-party copyright laws.
